Small chronicle to put the editorials in the historical context

January 1: The visa requirement between German Reich and Britain will be lifted.

March 30: The German Reichstag decides against the votes of the SPD and KPD a warship building program, about ten million marks are approved. A storm of protest breaks out in the election campaign ("Children's feed instead of armored cruiser!")[1]

20. May: Reichstag elections in Germany: Losses of the DNVP (from 20.5 to 14,3%) and the liberal parties; The SPD gained votes (from 26,0% to 29,8%).

June 12: The German Chancellor William Marx from center resigns after his party's election defeat in the Reichstag elections.

14. June: Paul Loebe, Social Democratic Party of Germany is in Berlin again to Reichstag President .

June 20: In the parliament of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes in Belgrade, a Serbian MP shoots down five Croatian MPs during a session. The leader of the Croatian Peasant Party, Stjepan Radic, is mortally wounded, two other MPs also die from the aftermath of the attack.

August 1: Croatian MPs meet in Zagreb and, under the impression of the June attack, speak out for a separation from the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes.

August 27: In Paris will the Kellogg-Briand Pact signed who rejects war as a political tool.
