"Private advertising is the main cause of the entire decline of our press," said almost 100 years ago, on January 4, 1925, the journalist Erich Schairer, who became the editor of the "Stuttgarter Zeitung" after the war - and who certainly did not jump in the air would have done if he had to experience how the selection of topics of the once proud newspaper should be "controlled according to reach and subscription targets" (context reported).
